PERFORMANCE TEAMS INFO SITE
Here you will find everything you need to know in regards to our Performance Team Expectations, Dates and Upcoming Comp/Eisteddfod information. This site will be regularly updated so please ensure you check back regularly.
Our Performance Team program is designed for dancers who are motivated to push their dancing to the next level. At APA we believe in creating dancers who have a great work ethic, demonstrate great teamwork skills and are passionate about improving their talents. Being a member of the team allows our students to develop those qualities whilst experiencing the joy of performing. Remember, it is a great privilege to be apart of the Performance Team!
Team members learn a selection of well-choreographed competitive dances, perform in different styles and are exposed to other inspirational performers at competitions. Our performance teams continue to enjoy fantastic success in local competitions.
To be eligible, performance teams have specific eligibility requirements in regards to the amount of classes and styles that students must do.
You must stay for the entire length of the class required and attend all compulsory classes for your relevant age group below. Some grades have not been listed as they are based on the individual student. All performance team students will have their suggested class level in the parent portal upon enrolment. If you have any questions, please chat to our team.

In 2026, we have a wide range of additional classes that we strongly recommend all our performance team students to do weekly. Some of these classes get the opportunity to compete additional routines based on the age group. Please see further information below.

Our Performance Teams are a team sport and as such it is very important that all team members are committed equally. Performance Team students are required to meet all class requirements and uphold the values of being a Performance Team student at our studio. When committing to our Performance Teams you commit for the full year.
We understand that things happen in life, however we expect our Performance Team students to not miss their classes lightly and only when very unwell. Any student that misses three or more lessons without a valid reason will run the risk of being placed out of whole routines. If you are planning a holiday that falls on one of the performances or eisteddfods please let us know at the beginning of the year so their teacher can make appropriate adjustments if/where required.
As representatives of Adrenaline Performing Arts Performance Teams we expect that our Performance Team students uphold the full Adrenaline Performing Arts uniform values in every single lesson. This includes full ballet uniform in ballet classes.
Our Competition Team students are also expected to wear our APA Performance jacket to and from eisteddfods and full APA uniform. This jacket is compulsory and not optional. Please take this very seriously and present yourself nicely as you are showing up as representatives of our studio.
Our Performance Team jackets are available to try on and purchase from reception for $140. If we do not have your size in stock, we will place an order for you. New members please see us ASAP so order arrangements can be done in time for our first competition.
This year each group will compete at 3 competitions throughout the year.
- Evolution Dance Competition 23rd to 24th May
- Ipswich Junior Eisteddfod 11th to 21st June
- Starbound Entertainers Festival 15th to 16th August
Please note these dates are only proposed by the respective competitions and are subject to change. Some competitions haven't advised what groups are performing on which dates so please have all dates in your calendars in the meantime.

Extra Rehearsals
Please save the date for the following compulsory extra rehearsals in 2026. There may be additional ones needed in the lead up to competitions but in the meantime please put these dates in your calendars.
Saturday 18 April - Extra Rehearsal
Each group has different time blocks - times will be finalised soon. Please ensure you are in attendance!
Saturday 9 May - Dress Rehearsal
All students will be required to attend. Students will rehearse/show their routines in full costume. No makeup will be required and hair needs to be very neat.
This dress rehearsal will be held at Centenary State High School Performing Arts Centre from 5.00 - 7.30pm. Parents will be invited to watch the rehearsal in the auditorium seating.
Costumes are an additional cost in 2026. Each age group will have two new routines therefore two new costumes per age group. Please factor these extra costs in. We endeavour to source reasonably priced costumes whilst maintaining a high quality. We are unable to give you exact breakdown of costuming costs for the year but our estimate is $120 - $160+ per costume. Costume prices change all throughout the year but we hope this can help you budget. Some routines will be reused from previous years, so we will try to reuse existing costumes as much as we can. Please also factor in costs for dance shoes & tights throughout the year.
You will be contacted very soon regarding costumes for 2026.
First costume deposits of $60 per costume have been billed to your account and are due 16th March. Payment can be made online via parent portal or in reception. Please note these costume payments WILL NOT be added to your weekly direct debits if you are a direct debit customer and must be paid separately.
Balance will be due before our first competition.
Your costume must be paid in full in order to perform. Once fully paid they are yours to take home.
